1:36 am - Sugar coated sandwich
|
I watched the Sugarfree and Sandwich concert last night. I was with Chrissy, and Jam. We met Desiree later on the concert. Never was there a concert in UP that started on time. Another thing, a change of venue at the last minute. Indicated in the ticket that we should be in the CSWD Auditorium. Instead, we found ourselves, outside the building. In the mercy of the Gods that it will not rain. Apparently, somebody in the concert told me that the College didn't want their auditorium to be used for the concert because it's new. Now i got it. So, i think the new auditorium will be used sometime next decade when the wall paints begin to peel off, and spiderwebs are everywhere. Hmm.. God sod it. Go on then! I think its the price to pay when you get to see prominent bands for 20 pesos. It should not be the case, i guess. (Sigh) when will they ever learn. Anyway, the good thing was this, only one unknown band played before the main performers. They call themselves " the inhalers". Probably because their vocalist had a lousy voice. Similar to somebody who has asthma, and the kind of voice you hear after he squirts his inhaler. Struggling, groaning, deeply breathing, something to that effect. The vocalist had a very terrible voice. He should have drinked a bottle of beer or two before their band performed. However, their songs were good. Specially the last song "stargaze". Again, his voice ruined it all. Surely a long way to go buddy. A very long one.
As for the rest (Sugar Free and Sandwich), they were fantastic. The crowd went wild! I have to make some clarifications on my exaggerations. Actually, the crowd which I am referring to, was not a crowd at all. My best estimate would be that the number of people out watching the concert was the same as a regular STS class. And when i say regular, it means with a class with a lot of absences. The DJ-turned-emcee (he's with... i forgot the station, to hell with him anyway ) spoon fed us with the idea that there was a crowd. Little did he knew of the crowd he was talking about. I think he was just eluded by the intense spotlight directed towards him on the make-shift stage. But i was there, with the so called crowd. So i knew better. So with things all clear now, i get back on my story. People banging their heads, jumping, going along well with the music. Both bands were launching thier new albums. So only a few can catch up with the intense jumping and head banging when they played releases from the new album.
I really like it when Ebi shouts "sing UP!". It stirs up everything in me. It makes me shout the lyrics and care less with everyone around me. But here's the funny part. When they begun playing one of the new releases, Ebi tried to get the our participation by shouting "sing UP!" and pointing the mic at us. Then i was quick to notice, i could hear no voice and as i looked around, i knew why. No one from the STS-like-crowd was actually singing! We were just banging our heads, smiling, swaying to the music like grasses bending over in unison as the wind blows. We all looked stupid. But certainly, Ebi was more stupid than us. How could you expect that your fans actually know the lines of your song when it was probably their first time to hear your new release? Aghh... Stupidity in its most basic form.
I am a fan of Sugarfree and Sandwich. A great fan to be specific. I just thought that it was foolish of him (ebi) to have done that. But that incident does not make them a degree less great as far as greatness is concerned. For me Sandwich and Sugarfree are one of the greatest Filipino bands ever.
Cant wait till sunday, im going to buy Sandwich's and Sugar Free's new albums. Yipee!
Im 2% done on my assignment. painstaking.
Ecky, i owe you a lot. BIG TIME! (you know what i mean) keep it cool.
best regards some_devil5

5:58 pm - A cut on my right knee
|
hello, my knee hurts. Yesterday, I was holding a cup of cold coffee and lit cigarette on my other hand when suddenly i slipped off my back and my knee hit a ledge and made a cut on my fucking right knee. As i was falling, i could hear everyone saying "OMG" and as i hit the floor, my world stopped. As if time stopped and slowly and progressively keeping in pace again. That moment lasted a few seconds. I was reduced to a fungi that feeds on a puss. I swear to the Gods and Goddess that they could take my pathetic life right there and then. But they never did (shit!) instead, i still felt i am alive and functional in one piece. Then with out any second thoughts, i stood up. walk straight. Acting as if nothing embarrassing happened. I never looked back. Im so afraid to see a thousand gazes from everyone who had witnessed one of the most foolish things i've done in my life. Heck, i sure damn hope that no one from the crowd knows me.
when i was a few good meters away from my audience, i started to feel pain. All sorts, sharp pains from my right knee, numbness on my butt and a tweaking feeling on my right palm. I just kept walking. I didn't know where to go. All i had in mind was to be far to the scene as possible.
I was thinking of not attending my class but i had to. I had to see the exemption list for my German class. I was exempted from taking the final exam. (darn, a consolation from my stupid accident )
Lastly, i bought 2 concert tickets from my friend Gerard and went home limping

12:33 am - dead kitten
|
Today, like any other day in my life started swell as hell. I attended my Physics class. Went in early in fact. Just 15 mins late than the usual 30 minutes. Funny how I'm so good in "faking attention" i wasn't listening at all.For 2 damn hours. Heck, who needs Physics after all. there, with my usual faking attention step - holding my pen and pretending i'm writing down every word that comes out of my instructor's filthy mouth while nodding in agreement (so fake!) to what my oh-my-God-i-know-it-i-mean-i-know-everything-classmate is yelling.
Fast forwarding my lousy day, My Korean friend treated the whole apartment with ice cream. YummY. I'm not sure why he was acting strange lately. Probably due to the commendation he got from his Boss. He also told me that his cat had given birth. But apparently i can't hear any kittens purring. So i insisted that we should check it out. Using a flashlight we scanned under his car and we uncovered a lifeless kitten. The cat gave birth prematurely. The poor thing still looked like an embryo. The placenta still intact. Pinkish.
I wonder who would bury the dead kitty. Certainly not me. I care less actually. Letting it rot, be eaten by ants, maggots and the same time swarmed by flies would be fine.
Decent burial or exposed rotting is fine with me. either way the kitty would still go back to where it came from. earth.
